i love it when it feels like God is really listening. do you know that feeling? when you are praying and you really feel that God cares so much about what you are saying to him at that moment? don’t get me wrong, i believe he is always interested in what we have to say/think…but sometimes you can just really feel it…and it feels beautiful…and refreshing for my heart.
i came across this prayer the other week and have really been working on meaning it…but can i ever really mean it? i want to mean it… i guess that’s what im saying.
’send me e’en where death defies me,
send me where oppression tries me,
through dark storms upon life’s sea!
as thou wilt, beloved Savior,
if but thou wilt show Thy favor,
constantly my staff to be.’
on another note…new reads i am excited about:
The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein – i bought it over christmas and i have only got about 10 pages in and unfortunately had to stop and replace it with text books…but i am really excited about it!
Paddle to the Arctic by Don Starkell – which is a loaner from auntie sandra…it is a bit smaller than Paddle to the Amazon but i am sure it is just as good if not better…so hopefully it won’t just be sitting on my bedside crate for too long…i might take it up north with me when i go?!
anyways i am off to bed. nite.
well…it’s been a a busy semester so far. There has been alot of planning, meetings, surprises, goodbyes (okay, only one), and homework! But here are 5 things I am liking so far:
1) luge…hott dang, so much fun yet so terrifying!

2) Jesus Christ Superstar slumber party in the chapel with popcorn and shirley temples!
3) a new coffee grinder (trying to forget the dreadful morning with no grinder and two bags of coffee beans…grrrrr)
4) planning and getting excited about dogsledding and winter course with clbi (three solid weeks of me and snow!!!
5) casseroles…even if they are a little dry…and especially if they last you 5 days!
5 things i am trying to work on this semester:
1) being more positive
2) talking to everyone
3) watching anchorman with neil
4) staying organized
5) being spontaneous!
anyways…off to merchants to go read after finally getting warm from standing outside for a few hours today recording cross country ski bib numbers (it was fun though…i got to play with boxer!). Have a good weekend everyone!
