well i am in camrose and am loving it! we arrived sunday night, met the landlord, and got my bed set up. dad left after checking out the place (he was very impressed!). i stayed up until 2am setting it up. i absolutely hate a packed up room…maybe some ocd…i need organization…i am not sure?! met my roomates…well 2 out of the three…and they are sweet. in the roomate mix we have one who just saw ichiro, one who is a hair stylist (but not one who compares with mine!) who just got back from working for foundations for his ministry in mexico, and the other who is just getting back from camp…it couldn’t get better for me! PLUS…they all love coffee! there as been alot of getting to know augustana this week and the rich history that it has. i am begining to appreciate this place more and more! a man named ole gave us an emotional tour yesterday…and for those of you who know the ravine bridge…yeh…he made it for under one thousand dollars! we have also been getting to know each other as chaplains and how we are going to work things amongst our group. we have the option to lead a small group or to head up a few big activitities during the year. i have chosen to lead a small group on top of the other chaplain duties we have that will involve a morning coffee and the newspaper. i am really excited! i am a bit overwhelmed because the fist two weeks determine alot. everyone finds their ‘groups’ within the first two weeks so please pray that we can do some incredible ministry during that time to not only get people involved with chapel and activities, but to also portray ourselves as approachable and loving people (which we are, but it just may not come across like that sometimes you know). my goal this year through chaplaincy as well as augustana against aids is to get people excited to help others and to realize that it is our duting and calling, not only as god’s children, but as a human race, to come together and help others in as many ways as we can. i would love to be a part of a group of students here at augustana that are willing to put aside ourselves even during the crazy times to realize what is going on in the world and to find ways that we can make the campus aware and ready to become a part of a solution whether it be big or small. we are headed out to a camp tomorrow to do some work with res life staff so it should be a fun kinda gong show! this weekend neil and i are having an anchorman party if anyone wants to come…anderson…7pm! ummm…i don’t think i will have coffee tomorrow morning…crud…think think think…7-11 run i guess?! early morning tomorrow…so i will header…hope everyone’s transition phase goes smooth. have a good september!!! (jamie, skinne, maggie, and erin: i hope you guys are having an awesome time in mexico…i am so pumped to see you in jan!!!!)

back to school…hope i don’t look like a fool

well…i am headed back to c-town. i have mixed feelings. half of me is excited to go back and to get things going and to hopefully get a chance to go canoeing, and the other half of me will miss my shampoo-family-bus life here in regina. sometimes i feel like i am two people in one body. one thing i am really really excited for is my house. did i mention my room is GREEN?!?!?!?!? CUZ IT IS! and for this i am stoked! i am excited to set up my room, start my classes, plan out augustana against aids and get a sweet kick small group through chaplaincy. HOLY HUTALAH I AM LEAVING IN 1.5 DAYS! in this 1.5 days i must work a full day (chatters 20% off day…if u need anything come see me!), finish packing, hang with the family, party with the boys, shower (only if needed), go to church, load the truck…AND SLEEP THE WHOLE 8 HRS THERE! (i think the sleeping is the part i am looking forward to most!). i am pretty sure i will update more through out the school year…or at least i will try to! here are some random pictures from the summer. hope everyone had a great summer…goodbye regina, good morning camrose!
