so….this is my new backpack…who’s excited! i need your guy’s help to think of a name for him! he will be an incedible asset to my journeys out at augustana…and will be my travel companion up to the arctic, over to djbouti and down to ohio! i am excited so leave me some sweet as names to consider! anyways the rest of my wknd was good, lots of shopping, which i have never done to that extent before, but i got a lot of stuff i needed, including pants that were long enough!!!! we even got to hang out at my cousin marsy’s house…with a pool…freshfruit… beer…and drunk guys who were asking questions about life insurance, church, wills, children and same sex marriage. my mom turned into doctor phil for a few minutes…it was hilarious! so all in all us girls had an awesome family weekend with a couple halvorson’s, a shepherd, a morgan, and a couple boxrud’s! now it is back to work for me and closer to camp…can’t wait! hope you all had a great weekend!
so we stayed in the palliser in calgary…super fancy EXCEPT they were having teams stay there for volleyball nationals…meaning there were scantily clad high school girls pretending the lobby was their room and turned it into a slumber party. seriously this is the fanciest hotel in calgary and there was girls playing poker in their sketchy pj’s sprawled all over the lobby floor…UNTIL my twin sister sheena took it upon herself to confront the front desk…soon they were gone! not that we are complainers but chances are they had important people staying there that weekend and what would it be like if they saw this?! speaking of important people…me and sheen went to chill in the hot tub before leaving and soon a guy came to enjoy the lovely whirl pool with us…AND i recognized him…hmmm…but i couldn’t think from what…it took me until i got home yesterday night but i figured it out…ted atherton! (you know the guy off sue thomas FBEye…in the above photo).
well…my weekend was great…actually pretty fabulous if i do say so myself! first the plane ride was awesome, the tv’s weren’t working so we only caught the last two minutes of the hockey game and that was once we landed…but that was okay, i wasn’t expecting tv’s anyways!!! anyways i love westjet…they are so much fun…(can i just say that i love their ‘jet mix’)!!
i’ll have you all know that i have not eaten mcdonalds for 2 weeks now…(i think amy had it last night…ha ha!) anyways…i win?! i actually don’t even think we were having a contest…but i guess we did…and i guess i won! well i am off today for my sweet as trip to calgary for may long…it should be good! well it will be because i get to see sam and catherine and go to mec! (and hopefully hit up the davinci code for a little hanks action!) so right now i am reading this book called paddle to the amazon about this dad and his son canoeing 12000 miles from winnipeg to the amazon. it is really good…pretty retro but an amazing story…they even get attacked by pirates! anyways…it’s a good one…you should read it! i have to finish packing now and then go sit outside and soak up some beautiful sun…perfect may long weather! i wish you all a SAFE and SMART may long…happy birthday heidi! ciao.
